IPL 2025: Now that tensions have subsided, teams will start preparing and wait for more directives from the Indian cricket board.

According to the Times of India (TOI), the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is anticipated to start on Thursday or Friday, May 15 or 16. According to reports, the games will be held throughout India, with the exception of Dharamsala, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is now trying to settle the remaining schedule.

After several stressful days, India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, which is when the report was released.

Due to rising cross-border tensions, the Indian cricket body briefly suspended the lucrative tournament, but now that things are back to normal, play is scheduled to resume. In the midst of the uncertainty, overseas players from each franchise had started returning home, but they will soon receive instructions to rejoin their respective teams.

According to reports, the geopolitical scenario caused several overseas participants to worry about possible airport difficulties. Now that tensions have subsided, teams will start preparing and wait for more guidance from the Indian cricket body.

“Yes, the international players were in a panic, but the airport closure and everything else were the main causes. They listened to the franchises with patience and confidence, but the possibility of international airport closures caused a great deal of concern, a source who was keeping tabs on the situation told the Times of India (TOI).

“The BCCI, IPL Governing Council, office bearers, and officials will meet tomorrow to assess the issue in light of the recent ceasefire development. We’ll go over the tournament schedule and figure out how to do it as efficiently as feasible. Venues and other factors that were first determined during the war will be reexamined. “We’ll make a decision soon,” BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla told PTI.
