Pakistan’s allegation of an Indian missile strike on its territory is denied by Afghanistan.

Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Afghan foreign minister, meets with Vikram Misri, the former Indian foreign secretary, in Dubai.

The Ministry of External Affairs denied this assertion as well, stating that Afghans are now familiar with their allies and adversaries and know which nation has frequently infringed on their borders.

Afghanistan denied there was “no truth to such claims” in response to Pakistan’s assertion that India had launched a missile attack on its territory on Saturday.

Speaking to Hurriyat Radio, Afghan Ministry of Defense spokesperson Inayatullah Khawarizmi categorically denied Pakistan’s allegation that India had launched a missile strike on Afghan territory.

Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Pakistan’s ISPR DG, had earlier asserted that India’s missile strikes on Pakistan also targeted Afghan territory.

Islamabad made the accusation after Indian forces attacked multiple Pakistani military installations and air bases in retaliation on the evenings of May 9 and 10. Following three nights in a row of Turkish drones from Pakistan attempting to invade Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, India took countermeasures.

In a news briefing this morning, the Ministry of External Affairs again denied Pakistan’s assertion, stating that Afghans are now familiar with their friends and adversaries and know which nation has consistently infringed on their territory.

“The notion that Indian missiles had struck Afghanistan is utterly absurd once more. A completely baseless accusation.” And I just want to emphasize that Afghans don’t need to be reminded of which country it is,” Misri said, adding that it has repeatedly targeted civilian populations and infrastructure in Afghanistan in the last 1.5 years.

India has not formally recognized the Taliban since they took control of Kabul in 2021. Nonetheless, New Delhi has continued to offer humanitarian aid and has kept a small diplomatic presence in Kabul. Engagement between Taliban representatives and Indian authorities has increased in recent months, indicating a practical strategy motivated by strategic and regional security concerns.
