The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports that an earthquake of a magnitude of 7.7 struck Myanmar 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) below the surface.
On Friday, Myanmar was rocked by powerful earthquakes with Richter Scale magnitudes of 7.7 and 6.4. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, and several parts of Vietnam experienced strong earthquakes.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports that at around 11.50 am, an earthquake of a magnitude of 7.7 struck Myanmar at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles). According to the USGS, the epicenter was roughly 17.2 kilometers from Mandalay, a city with 1.2 million residents.
About 12.02 pm, the nation was struck by another 6.4-magnitude earthquake. 18 km south of Sagaing, the earthquake struck.
Following the devastating earthquake, Myanmar did not immediately provide an update on damage.

There were strong tremors in Bangkok, Thailand. Social media users posted images of buildings that were trembling violently during the earthquake.
In Bangkok, witnesses reported that water poured out of swimming pools and people fled into the streets in fear. The earthquake also caused the collapse of a structure that was still under construction.
