“There is just no excuse for this heinous crime. The Russian president said, “We anticipate that its organizers and perpetrators will receive a just punishment.”
“I want to reaffirm our dedication to enhancing our collaboration with Indian allies in the fight against terrorism in all of its guises. Please offer the deceased’s loved ones your deepest sympathies and support, along with best wishes for a quick recovery for everyone hurt,” it continued.
“Deepest condolences to the people and the Government of India over the heinous terror attack against tourists in Pahalgam,” posted Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov on X. Russia is steadfast in its support of India.
The bloodiest attack in the Valley since the Pulwama incident in 2019 claimed the lives of 26 persons, primarily tourists, when terrorists opened fire on a well-known meadow close to Pahalgam town in Kashmir on Tuesday afternoon. Two foreigners and two locals were among the 26 deceased, a senior official informed news agency PTI without providing specifics.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condemned the terror incident and promised to bring those responsible to justice.
“They (terrorists) will not be spared!” the prime minister wrote in a post on X. Their nefarious plan will never be successful. Our determination to combat terrorism is unwavering and will only get stronger. Modi also expressed his sympathies to the families of those killed in the assault.
“I hope the injured get better as soon as possible. Those impacted are receiving every aid available,” he stated.
