In China, Tesla has stopped testing driving assistance software as it awaits certification.

Tesla is collaborating with Chinese tech behemoth Baidu to enhance the system’s functionality in preparation for a complete rollout of FSD this year.

Following complaints that a limited-time free trial of its Full Self-Driving service had been briefly halted, Tesla announced on Monday that it will launch its smart driving-assistance function in China once regulatory certification is complete.

“The appropriate process is being actively advanced by all parties, and we will notify you as soon as it is prepared. On the social networking site Weibo, Tesla’s customer service posted, “We are also looking forward to it, so please wait patiently.”

Last Monday, the business announced that its FSD service would be available for free trial in China from March 17 to April 16.

FSD is a group of driving-assistance tools designed to handle more complex traffic situations using generative artificial intelligence.

According to a previous Reuters article, Tesla is collaborating with Chinese tech giant Baidu to enhance the system’s performance in preparation for a complete rollout of FSD this year.

Since local AI training improves driving, Tesla has made such trials available in the US, where its FSD system does not need navigation maps to be precise or current.
