‘Hind’ is the name of the baby girl the Dubai Crown welcomes into the world.
The fourth child born to Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, is a girl named “Hind Bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.”
“O Allah, grant her a heart full of your love, make her a source of light and guidance, and clothe her in the garments of health and well-being,” Sheikh said in an Instagram story. (This is an approximate translation of what he posted on Instagram.)
The same tweet also disclosed her name: Hind bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.
Sheikh Hamdan’s mother, Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum, the wife of Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is honored by her moniker “Hind.” In May 2021, Sheikh Hamdan welcomed twins Shaikha and Rashid, and in February 2023, his son Mohammed.
In Arabic-speaking and Islamic societies in particular, the name Hind has profound cultural and historical importance.
It has historically stood for fortitude, wealth, and tenacity. Originating in pre-Islamic Arabia, the name is linked to individuals such as Hind bint Utbah, a notable female figure in early Islamic history who was renowned for her leadership and brilliance.
Hind is still a well-liked and esteemed name that stands for courage, nobility, and heritage. Many families find it to be a meaningful decision because of its classic elegance and ties to tradition.
Sheikh Hamdan is who?
In addition to being the UAE‘s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Sheikh Hamdan has been the Crown Prince of Dubai since 2008.
“Fazza” is the second son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
In a combined ceremony with his brothers, he wed Sheikha Sheikha bint Saeed bin Thani Al Maktoum, his cousin, in 2019. Another member of the Al Maktoum family, Sheikha Sheikha, keeps a low profile and enjoys a private life.
The Instagram handle ‘Faz3,’ which Sheikh Hamdan uses, has more than 16.9 million followers.
