The Elon Musk-led microblogging platform, formerly known as Twitter, is going through a significant shift. In July, an X took the place of the company’s previous blue bird emblem. Recently, a user noticed that URLs created using the X app’s share sheet on iOS suddenly started with X.com rather than the previous domain, twitter.com. Last month, billionaire Elon Musk renamed Twitter as X. Twitter’s mobile application icon is now shown as an X on both the Android and iOS operating systems. Later, the business referred to tweets as posts.
Musk’s X may have begun to lean more toward X.com. According to a report by The Verge, URLs generated from the share sheet of the iOS version of the X app now display X.com rather than the previous URL of twitter.com. The Android app and Web link, however, are still sending users to the previous domain. In the upcoming days, the business might modify this.
Owner of X Musk previously stated that X.com users would be forwarded to Twitter. The Tesla billionaire recently changed Twitter’s name to X and substituted the single letter “X” for the company’s previous blue bird emblem. Following that, the business altered the Twitter mobile app icon on both the Android and iOS platforms to X. Posts are the new name for user-shared information, formerly known as tweets. Twitter Blue, the company’s paid subscription, is still used today.
Musk purchased the microblogging service in October of last year for $44 billion (approximately Rs. 3,40,800 crore), and since then, the business has undergone a number of adjustments. He let go thousands of workers from various divisions and began charging customers $8 (about Rs. 600) each month to subscribe to Twitter Blue.
In the first week of July, when Musk restricted the content readers could view, the business, which is having trouble generating cash from advertisements, received harsh criticism from users and advertising experts. He also only allowed verified accounts to access TweetDeck.
