Apple is anticipated to introduce the iPhone 15 series, the next generation of iPhones, in September 2023. The iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max models are reported to be part of the future iPhone 15 lineup.
According to the South Korean publication ITHome, the iPhone 15 series will reportedly receive a larger battery update. This rumour was first discovered by ITHome on Weibo. Here are the battery capacities for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro lineups, per the rumour, which quotes a Foxconn source:
While the iPhone 15 Plus is expected to be powered by a 4912mAh battery (13.6% more than the iPhone 14 Plus), the iPhone 15 could have a 3877mAh battery (18% more than the iPhone 14), making it the largest battery to ever debut in an iPhone. The top-of-the-line iPhone 15 Pro Max will reportedly have a 4852mAh battery (10.9% more than the iPhone 14 Pro Max), while the iPhone 15 Pro may have a 3650mAh battery (14.1% more than the iPhone 14 Pro).
A 48MP primary camera may be included in all models of the iPhone 15 series, even the basic ones, in addition to the larger batteries. There are claims that Sony, due to a shortage of production capacity, asked TSMC to handle the colour filter film for its camera units.
The 48MP camera, which was originally seen in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, is reportedly present in more iPhones this year, placing pressure on Sony. According to the rumour, Apple intends to increase the camera system’s resolution to 48MP across the board for the iPhone 15 series, not just the Pro models.
