New Pickup SUV Concept From Mahindra, Based On The Scorpio N, Should Be Available By 2026–2027.

Mahindra launches new Scorpio N-based pickup SUV concept

The upcoming release of a new pickup SUV based on the Scorpio N has been revealed by Mahindra & Mahindra. It displayed the Global Pik Up pickup idea, which is based on the Scorpio N, in Cape Town, South Africa. The pickup SUV will use the same engines as the Scorpio-N and will be built on the Gen- ladder-frame chassis.

In addition, the business unveiled the design for Thar.e, a concept for its “first offroad-friendly” electric sports utility vehicle (e-SUV).

According to R. Velusamy, Chief of Global Product Development, Mahindra Group, the new pickup truck will have level two autonomous car features: a four-wheel drive system with electric shift, terrain-based mode selection, an immersive audio experience, 5G connectivity, semi-automatic parking assist, and a sunroof.

The pickup SUV will have a variety of safety features, including Level-2 ADAS, Trailer Sway Mitigation, All-Around Airbag Protection, Drowsy Driver Detection, 5G Connectivity, and others.

According to a press release from the firm, the Global Pik Up concept has been built to meet a variety of lifestyle needs. It features enhanced drive modes, an immersive audio experience, semi-automatic parking, a sunroof, and other features.

The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and the Toyota Hilux are anticipated to face direct competition from pickup SUV. Buyers seeking a tough, capable pickup SUV that can also be utilized for daily driving will be its target market.

The decision by the corporation to introduce a pickup SUV is in keeping with the rising demand for these kinds of cars on a global scale. Due to their adaptability, pickup SUVs are becoming increasingly popular since they provide the same amenities and comfort as standard SUVs with the extra ability to tow and transport. A pickup SUV functions as a complete package for buyers that need both.

The Mahindra Group is the nation’s top exporter of pickup trucks and SUVs. One-third of the company’s domestic SUV sales in India and 75% of its SUV exports are made up of sales of pickup trucks.

Veejay Nakra, President of the Mahindra Group’s Auto Division, stated during a presentation at the “FutureScape” conference on August 15 that the business was considering exporting pickup trucks to ASEAN, Australia, India, South Africa, and South and Central America.

By 2026 or 2027, Mahindra Auto will probably introduce the new pickup SUV.

The new Global Pik Up represents a key stride in Mahindra’s Go-Global Strategy, according to Veejay Nakra, President of Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. This durable and tough vehicle was created with state-of-the-art technology and is not only versatile and capable but also adheres to strict safety regulations. The Global Pik Up is positioned to not only strengthen our footprint in current markets but also open up new horizons. It serves as a physical representation of what we hope to provide and a call to Live Unlimited, Explore Boundlessly, and Embrace Freedom.

Design is the cornerstone of our success, defining our identity and laying the foundation for our global acceptability, according to Pratap Bose, Chief Design Officer at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. The Global Pik Up’s tough, trustworthy, and useful design appeals to people of various backgrounds and reflects a desire for exploration and adventure. The ultra-durable New Gen Ladder Frame foundation is highlighted by the satin-finish titanium-gold colour, evoking the ‘GO FAR’ goals that characterize this Mahindra Pik Up. Cutting-edge technologies have enhanced its adaptability and capabilities, signalling a paradigm shift in what a lifestyle pickup may be.

It will be introduced initially in already-existing markets, including South Africa, ANZ, and Africa.
